TRIP ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrive in Victoria Falls

Welcome to Victoria Falls.
Settle in before our pre-trip meeting, where we’ll meet the crew and get an introduction to the overland vehicle that will take us across Southern Africa.

Day 2: Victoria Falls
​
Today we visit the spectacular Victoria Falls, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. Known locally as “The Smoke That Thunders”, Victoria Falls is one of the most powerful and impressive waterfalls on earth. The surrounding rainforest, created by the constant spray from the Falls, gives the area a unique atmosphere and makes this a truly memorable start to the journey. The afternoon is free to enjoy optional activities. These may include white water rafting, a helicopter flight, bungee jumping, a gorge swing, horse riding, craft markets or simply relaxing and taking in the surroundings.

Day 3: Chobe National Park
​
We leave Zimbabwe and cross the border into Botswana, travelling to Chobe National Park. Chobe is famous for its large elephant and buffalo populations, and this afternoon we enjoy an included river cruise. This is a beautiful way to experience the park, with excellent wildlife viewing and sunset photo opportunities from the water.

Day 4: Chobe to the Okavango River
​
Today we cross into Namibia and travel towards the Caprivi region, an area surrounded by rivers and rich in wildlife. This region is Namibia’s answer to the Okavango Delta, with opportunities to see elephants, hippos, crocodiles, buffalo and outstanding birdlife. Once we arrive at Ngepi Camp, there will be time to relax by the river and enjoy the peaceful setting.

Day 5: Okavango River Activities
​
Today is a free day on the Okavango River. Optional activities may include a mokoro-style canoe trip, guided walks, game drives, boat trips or simply relaxing at camp. Ngepi is known for its quirky setting, riverside atmosphere and unique floating swimming pool.
​
Upgrade options may be available at Ngepi Camp, subject to availability.

Day 6: Okavango River to Rundu
​
We continue through northern Namibia towards Rundu, a lively town on the banks of the Okavango River, close to the Angola border. There may be an opportunity to visit the Mbunza Living Museum, which offers insight into the traditions, skills and cultural heritage of the Kavango people. This evening we enjoy an included sunset boat trip along the Kavango floodplain, with the chance to see birds, wildlife and possibly hippos as the sun goes down.

Day 7: To Etosha National Park
​
Today we travel west to Etosha National Park, one of Namibia’s most famous wildlife destinations. We arrive in the afternoon and enjoy our first game drive in the park. Later, there may be time to visit a floodlit waterhole, where wildlife often comes to drink after dark.
​

Day 8: Etosha National Park Safaris
​
Today is dedicated to a safari in Etosha National Park. Etosha is home to four of the Big Five: elephant, rhino, lion and leopard. We will travel through the park in our overland vehicle, stopping at waterholes and looking out for wildlife such as giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, antelope, elephants and predators. This is one of the classic safari days of the trip.

Day 9: Etosha to Himba Region
​
We continue our game viewing as we leave Etosha and travel towards our overnight camp in the Namibian desert.
This area supports the local Himba people, and there may be an opportunity to learn more about their culture, traditions and way of life through an optional village visit.

Day 10: Cape Cross Seal Colony and Skeleton Coast
​
We travel towards Namibia’s dramatic coastline, visiting Cape Cross Seal Reserve, one of the largest Cape fur seal colonies in the world. After experiencing the sights, sounds and energy of the seal colony, we continue along the Skeleton Coast to Swakopmund, Namibia’s much-loved coastal town. Tonight, we enjoy an included group dinner.

Day 11: Free Day in Swakopmund
​
Today is free to enjoy Swakopmund. This coastal town is Namibia’s adventure capital, offering a wide range of optional activities including dolphin cruises, seal kayaking, quad biking, sandboarding, fat biking, scenic flights and skydiving. For those who prefer a slower pace, Swakopmund also has cafes, galleries, museums, markets and beachside walks.

Day 12: Swakopmund to the Desert
​
We leave the coast and travel south into Namibia’s remote desert landscapes. This evening we enjoy a guided desert experience, learning about the smaller creatures that survive in this harsh environment. It’s a chance to discover a different side of the desert and understand how life adapts in one of the world’s most extreme landscapes.

Day 13: Namib-Naukluft, Sossusvlei and Deadvlei
​
Today we head deeper into the Namib Desert and enter the Namib-Naukluft National Park. We visit the iconic landscapes of Sossusvlei and Deadvlei, where towering red dunes surround white salt pans and ancient dark trees create one of Namibia’s most photographed scenes. A jeep trip is included today, before we camp inside the park and enjoy the desert night sky.

Day 14: Dune 45 and Windhoek
​
We start early for the chance to climb Dune 45, one of Namibia’s most famous dunes. After taking in the views across the Namib Desert, we continue to Windhoek, Namibia’s capital city. This evening we come together for a final group meal to celebrate an incredible journey across Southern Africa.
​

Day 15: Windhoek Departure

NB: A reasonable level of fitness is required for this trip, as it is a fairly active overland adventure. While you do not need to be an athlete, you should be comfortable with walking on uneven ground, getting in and out of the overland vehicle, setting up for camping nights, and taking part in optional activities such as dune walks, game drives, boat trips and guided excursions. Some days will involve early starts, longer travel days and time outdoors in warm or remote environments, so a reasonable level of mobility, stamina and a sense of adventure are important.
